Biography
My name is Hope Spann. I am licensed and certified in Middle Level Mathematics, Elementary Education and Talented/Gifted Education. I have a B.A. Degree in Elementary Ed. from USC Coastal Carolina College, a Master Degree in Ed. from Boston Massachusetts Cambridge College and 51 graduate hours past my Master Degree in Education from the College of Charleston and The Citadel. I teach 7th grade math at Alice Drive Middle School. My total years of experience as a teacher are 26 years.

Seventh grade math will deal with the following domains from the State Standards: The Number System, Ratios and Proportional Relationships, Expression, Equations and Inequalities, Geometry and Measurement, Data Analysis Statistics and Probability. The SS are designed to be robust and relevant to real world, reflecting knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. The State Standards seek to develop both students’ mathematical understanding and their procedural skills. The students will practice solving problems, reasoning abstractly and quantitatively, construct arguments and critique reasons , model with mathematics, use tools strategically, attend to precision, look for and make use of structure and look for and express repeated reasoning.
